Kathy Thomas, M.S., CCC-SLP

Senior Program Director – Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Kathy is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience treating adults and children with complex communication needs. Prior to joining the Once Upon a Time Foundation in 2015, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of North Texas and Director of the UNT Speech and Hearing Clinic. Kathy’s interest in serving children with complex communication needs, including children with severe motor speech and language disorders, propelled her interest in working with the foundation to develop programs to support children with communication disorders and their families.

Breanna Waldrup, M.S., CCC-SLP

Program Director – Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Breanna is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 12 years of experience treating children with communication disorders, 8 years of which have been focused on treating children with motor speech disorders, primarily childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). She has attended and presented numerous continuing education courses on CAS. In addition to her role at the foundation, Breanna owns a private practice that specializes in treating CAS. Her passion for helping children with CAS and their families motivated her to join the foundation.
